There are a lot of opportunities for Turkish businessmen to invest in Chittagong port and they are becoming more and more interested in taking advantage of that opportunity. A statement from the Turkish embassy in Dhaka on Wednesday said. In a statement, the Turkish embassy said that there is ample opportunity for Turkish companies to invest in the historic port of Chittagong, Bangladesh. It is hoped that Turkey’s leading LPG company Aigaz AS will take the opportunity first. Turkey made the statement after a four-day visit to Chittagong by Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Mustafa Osman Turan from January 9 to 12.
During the visit, the Turkish Ambassador met with several government officials and business leaders in Chittagong. Among them are Chairman of Chittagong Port Authority Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad, Chairman of Chittagong Development Authority Zahirul Alam Dubash, President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mahbubul Alam and others.
The ambassador was accompanied by a number of Turkish business leaders and government officials. The meeting focused on bilateral relations and investment prospects, the Turkish embassy said. During the visit, the Turkish delegation visited the newly constructed World Trade Center in Chittagong. Turkey has also expressed interest in participating in the trade fair to be held in the city.
